These resources can assist care professionals plan for and respond to bioterrorism events or public health emergencies such as Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. AGENCY FOR HEALTHCARE RESEARCH AND QUALITY (AHRQ) RESOURCES

AHRQ, a federal agency, has created a report containing emergency preparedness models that provide guidance on personal protective equipment, decontamination, isolation/quarantine, and laboratory capacity. To download this report, follow the link below:

    AHRQ has also released an updated version of the Bioterrorism and Epidemic Outbreak Response Model, which is a computer model that predicts the number and type of staff needed to respond to a major disease outbreak or bioterrorism attack on a given population.     Developed for Community Health Center clinical staff who provide patient care, assessments, outreach, or triage, this webcast addresses EIDs and agensts of bioterrorism, describes EIDs of current interest and how CHC patients with EID would present, aspects of preparedness, and scenarios and case presentations.
