CHAMPS REGION VIII HEALTH CENTER SALARY SURVEYS & REPORTS

In October 2016, CHAMPS released the 2016 CHAMPS Region VIII Health Center Salary, Benefits, Turnover, and Vacancy Survey Report.  This project was planned, implemented, and compiled through collaborative efforts between CHAMPS and the Region VIII State Primary Care Associations (AUCH, CCHN, CHAD, MTPCA, and WYPCA).  The report analyzes data for 120 clinical and non-clinical positions, including information from 55 organizations representing large and small organizations from all Region VIII states in a variety of locations (rural, urban, frontier) and serving diverse populations (communities, migrants, homeless). 2016 CHAMPS Organizational Members received one complimentary copy of this report, and any health center submitting data for the project (regardless of membership status) also received one complimentary copy; interested parties (members and non-members) are invited to order additional copies.

CHAMPS REGION VIII HEALTH CENTER CLINICAL STAFFING AND MEDICAL/DENTAL PRODUCTIVITY EXPECTATIONS REPORTS

In 2016, CHAMPS utilized data submitted during the Region VIII Health Center Salary Survey project described above to develop reports addressing clinical staffing and provider productivity expectations. Each is available as an electronic file only, and will be available for downloaded from the Members Only section of the CHAMPS website in February 2017.

  • The 2016 CHAMPS Region VIII Health Center Clinical Staffing Report, released in February 2017, utilized Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs) data reported in the salary survey for every employee at each reporting Health Center to develop staffing ratios relating to Medical, Behavioral Health, and Dental Provider and Medical and Dental Support employees.
  • The 2016 CHAMPS Region VIII Health Center Medical and Dental Provider Productivity Expectations Report, released in February 2017, includes information about health center expectations for weekly hours, administrative vs. patient contact hours ratio, and completed visits for full-time Medical Directors, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Dental Directors, and Dentists.  The 2016 report also presents information about standard patient panel sizes for these providers.

2011 CHAMPS REGION VIII RECRUITMENT & RETENTION SURVEY

The 2011 CHAMPS Region VIII Health Center Program Grantee Recruitment & Retention Survey Report provides an analysis of data collected in December 2011 from staff members of Region VIII Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) Health Center Program grantees (primarily community, migrant, and homeless health centers).  This project was undertaken in collaboration with the Region VIII State Primary Care Associations (SPCAs) to provide CHAMPS (the Region VIII PCA), the region’s SPCAs, and participating grantees with information vital to strengthening and enhancing successful recruitment and retention strategies already in place, and to developing new and innovative ways to support successful recruitment and retention of staff in an era of economic stress, dynamic program expectations, and ongoing challenges in finding, and keeping, highly qualified employees.  CHAMPS and the Region VIII SPCAs undertook a much shorter Recruitment and Retention survey in 2004; a link to that publication is also available below.
