Consumers who enrolled the previous open enrollment period do not need to reapply for coverage each subsequent open enrollment period: however, they are encouraged to return to the Marketplace to update their personal information and explore their plan options. Consumers who do not revisit the Marketplace to select a new plan or update their information will be automatically enrolled in the same plan they selected the year before, or a similar plan if their current plan is being discontinued.

TAX FILING RESOURCES
The 2025 Tax Season ended April 15, 2025. Consumers who had a Marketplace health plan received Internal Revenue Services (IRS) form 1095-A from the Marketplace. The information shown on Form 1095-A helps consumers complete the federal individual income tax return. If a consumer chose to have advance payments on the premium tax credit paid directly to the insurance company, they must complete Form 8962, Premium Tax Credit and file a federal income tax return, even if they are otherwise not required to file.
