INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INTRODUCTION

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) refers to behavior within an intimate relationship that causes physical, sexual, or psychological harm, including acts of physical aggression, sexual coercion, psychological abuse and controlling behaviors. This definition covers violence by both current and former spouses and partners.

Project Catalyst
HRSA-funded initiative that helps health centers support patients experiencing IPV and human trafficking. The goal is to integrate IPV and human trafficking response into the health care delivery system. Project Catalyst does this by bringing together teams from state Primary Care Associations (PCAs), domestic violence coalitions, and state health departments to educate health center providers and promote policy change.
