In an effort to offer health center personnel remote avenues for continuing education, CHAMPS hosts live, online webcasts specifically designed for Region VIII health centers throughout the year. Please refer to the descriptions for each event for more information about available credit, topics, presenters, etc. Most* CHAMPS live distance learning events are FREE for all health centers (Health Center Program Grantees and FQHC Look-Alikes) and Primary Care Associations (PCAs) in Region VIII (CO, MT, ND, SD, UT, and WY), including computer link and CE credit, and fees for links to webcasts and/or CE credit may apply for other participants unless otherwise indicated in the descriptions for each event below. CHAMPS Beyond Core Competencies: Next Level Skills for Health Center Supervisors and Managers Training
Event Overview: The Next Level Skills training is a dynamic, hands-on, highly interactive program that is a step up from the CHAMPS CORE Competencies for Health Center Supervisors and Managers training. This course allows these key health center leaders to delve deeper into the best practices, knowledge, and abilities needed to be a great manager/supervisor, beginning with a review of the crucial expertise needed to hire, retain, and manage others. Participants will then move to higher-level learning for avoiding, circumventing, and de-escalating conflict; fortifying day-to-day decision-making practices; and successfully managing change.
This course will consist of five live online Zoom meetings to allow for facilitated learning and small group work on Wednesday mornings from April 8 – May 6, 2026.

Perinatal Mental Health Series: Evidence-Based Practice Across the Continuum of Care
Event Overview: This three-part online series offers clinicians and healthcare professionals a comprehensive look at perinatal mental health across the full continuum of care, from screening and assessment to clinical intervention and community-based support. Each session is led by doctoral-level clinicians and researchers with specialized expertise in perinatal behavioral health. Participants will leave with practical, evidence-based tools they can apply immediately in clinical and community settings. This series has been created in partnership with The Birth Squad/Colorado Perinatal Mental Health Project (CO PMHP), a community-based organization dedicated to eliminating barriers to perinatal mental health care.
Audience: This series is intended for Region VIII health center medical and behavioral health providers as well as nurses, care coordinators, other clinical roles, and those who support the mental health and wellbeing of pregnant and postpartum individuals and their families.
Dates/Time/Location: This three-part series will be held online on the following Thursdays from 12:00-1:00PM MT | 1:00-2:00PM CT.

About The Birth Squad/CO PMHP: The Birth Squad/Colorado Perinatal Mental Health Project (CO PMHP) is a Colorado-based nonprofit dedicated to improving access to comprehensive perinatal mental health care for prenatal and postpartum individuals and their families. Through clinical training, community outreach, and cross-sector partnerships, CO PMHP works to close the gap between screening and care by building a robust perinatal support network that meets families where they are.

How to Resource Map Your Community for Maternal Health Resources: A Workshop for CHWs, Patient Navigators & More!
Event Overview: Supporting pregnant and postpartum families requires more than clinical knowledge – it requires knowing where to find the right help at the right time. In this interactive virtual workshop, Community Health Workers (CHWs) will learn practical, real-world skills to identify, verify, and organize maternal health resources in their communities. Participants will actively practice the skills they need to confidently guide clients through complex systems of care. While this workshop will focus on mapping for maternal health resources, these skills can be applied to any health-related need. This workshop is being offered in partnership with the Patient Navigation and Community Health Worker Training Program (PNCT), an organization that focuses on skills-based curriculum for this growing workforce.
Audience: This workshop is designed for CHWs, patient navigators, outreach coordinators, doulas, case managers, and anyone supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals in clinical and community settings.

Maternal Health 101 Workshop: Practical Prenatal & Postpartum Care for Health Center Providers
Event Overview: This practical, case-based workshop is designed for community and rural healthcare providers who may not routinely provide maternity care, as well as those who do but seek greater confidence in their skills. Participants will learn to recognize normal versus high-risk conditions, manage common prenatal and postpartum concerns, and identify when to escalate care. The workshop and its three 30-minute follow-up “office hour” sessions emphasize simple, real-world frameworks, and highlight how to identify local partners and resources to support higher-risk patients.
Audience: This workshop is designed for Region VIII health center medical providers as well as behavioral health providers, nurses, case managers, and anyone supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals who would like an overview of perinatal health care.
Dates/Times/Location: This two-hour online Maternal Health 101 workshop will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 from 11:00AM-1:00PM MT | 12:00-2:00PM CT.
Additionally, three 30-minute “office hour” sessions will be held online on Wednesdays, July 1, 15, and 29 from 12:00-12:30PM MT | 1:00-1:30PM CT. Topics for these optional follow-up sessions will be based on the needs of the cohort and will be posted closer to the events.
