In an effort to offer health center personnel remote avenues for continuing education, CHAMPS hosts live, online webcasts specifically designed for Region VIII health centers throughout the year. Please refer to the descriptions for each event for more information about available credit, topics, presenters, etc. Most* CHAMPS live distance learning events are FREE for all health centers (Health Center Program Grantees and FQHC Look-Alikes) and Primary Care Associations (PCAs) in Region VIII (CO, MT, ND, SD, UT, and WY), including computer link and CE credit, and fees for links to webcasts and/or CE credit may apply for other participants unless otherwise indicated in the descriptions for each event below. Maternal Health 101 Workshop & Office Hours: Practical Prenatal & Postpartum Care for Health Center Providers

Event Overview: This practical, case-based workshop was designed for community and rural healthcare providers who may not routinely provide maternity care, as well as those who do but seek greater confidence in their skills. Participants learned to recognize normal versus high-risk conditions, manage common prenatal and postpartum concerns, and identify when to escalate care. The workshop and its three 30-minute follow-up “office hour” sessions emphasize simple, real-world frameworks, and highlight how to identify local partners and resources to support higher-risk patients.

Audience: This workshop and it’s office hours were designed for Region VIII health center medical providers as well as behavioral health providers, oral health providers, nurses, case managers, and anyone supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals who would like an overview of perinatal health care.

Healthy Communities Spotlight Series

Event Overview: This is a free three-part webinar series showcasing innovative programs that advance healthy communities across Region VIII. Designed for Region VIII health center staff and key PCA contacts, the series will offer practical insights, highlight promising practices, and share lessons learned from health centers throughout the region.

    • Jennifer Pollmiller and Hanna Bates from Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. will be presenting on The Coffee Break Project, a community partnership that is intended to provide mental health education, support and assistance in the rural ranching and agriculture community.
